Events at the Nolde Museum Seebüll

Look forward to informative and exciting public tours through the current exhibition and the historic Nolde Garden, creative painting courses and open workshops in our painting school, as well as concerts, readings, lectures and summer festivals.

Whether you want to learn more about the world of Emil Nolde, become artistically active yourself, or enjoy special moments in a unique atmosphere – in Seebüll you will find a diverse range of offers for all ages and interests.

Emil Nolde's 159th Birthday

Friday, 7 August 2026, 10 am–6 pm

On 7 August, we celebrate the 159th anniversary of Emil Nolde’s birth. To mark the occasion, we warmly invite you to Seebüll to discover the life and work of the artist at his former home and place of creativity.

At 2 pm, Mechthild Gransow will lead a free public art tour of the current exhibition, offering fascinating insights into Emil Nolde’s artistic work.

From 2 pm onwards, the Seebüll Painting School will also open its doors for a free Creative Time session. Led by Helle Binding, children, teenagers and adults are invited to explore their creativity, develop their own ideas and draw inspiration from the unique atmosphere of Seebüll.

Spend an inspiring summer day surrounded by art, gardens and creative activities, and celebrate Emil Nolde’s birthday with us. Participation in both the guided tour and Creative Time is free of charge; only the regular museum admission fee applies.

Final Day of the Museum Season

Saturday, 31 October 2026, 10 am–6 pm

On 31 October, the museum season in Seebüll comes to an end. Take this final opportunity of the year to experience the current exhibition, the artist’s home and studio, and the unique atmosphere of this remarkable place of art.

At 2 pm, Nicola Heuwinkel will lead a free public tour of the exhibition, providing insights into selected works and themes. A second free public tour, led by Mechthild Gransow, will begin at 3 pm.

From 2 pm onwards, visitors are also invited to take part in a free Creative Time session at the Seebüll Painting School. Under the guidance of Martina Reinig-Kirchhoff, participants can explore different materials and techniques while bringing their own creative ideas to life.

We look forward to bringing the 2026 museum season in Seebüll to a close together with you. Participation in all of the activities listed above is free of charge; only the regular museum admission fee applies.
